Here are some resources, and some links to resources, which will provide teachers
with information which will allow them to make effective use of listservs. These
resources/links fall into four categories, as shown below. Please read our
disclaimer.
Network Nuggets is a CLN listserv serving thousands of K-12 teachers around
the world. Each school day, our moderator sends a message to the list members
identifying an educational web site that he has visited recently that contains
educationally relevant resources. Occasionally, he will review several web
sites that have a common theme.
List
Archives
A number of the more popular educational lists store the messages from their
list in archives which can be accessed even if you aren't a member. We've
found a couple of WWW sites which provide such archives.
Internet
Scout Project The Internet Scout Project provides information on new
developments on the net. Lists include various Scout Reports, Net Happenings,
and K-12 Newsletters.
Network
Nuggets Archives CLN's own Network Nuggets are archived here within
curricular subject areas.
List
Directories
Looking for information on a particular educational list (e.g., its mailing
address, how to subscribe) or interested in finding a list which covers your
field or special interest? There are hundred of educational lists, but finding
them can be quite difficult. Fortuntately, there are a number of directories
which provide "a list of listservs" which can be browsed or searched.

Educator's Guide to Email Lists This page has information on hundreds
of lists with educational relevance. These are organized under about 30
topics.
E-mail
Discussion Lists and Electronic Journals An alphabetically arranged
collection of education-centered discussion groups, focussing primarily
on general education, K-12 education, education technology and education
reform.
Liszt,
the Mailing List Directory Here's a searchable database of over 55,000
listservs of all kinds. The catalog is updated frequently.
Publically
Accessible Mailing Lists A huge list of mailing lists (of all types).
Browse through it either alphabetically by name or by subject.
Search
the List of Lists This site allows you to search a directory of special
interest group mailing lists available on the Internet. You can also submit
updates for the description of an existing mailing-list or add a new entry
for the list.
